Why is Creative Writing important?
Teachers have recognized that it is important to show children the depth within storytelling and also to train them to distinguish when creativity is acceptable and when the situation calls for the truth.
It Fuels the Imagination
Studying creative writing assists children with reading comprehension, promotes the creation of unique ideas and improves their ability to solve problems. These skills, along with imagination, are all key to the work of product developers, inventors and scientists..
Grammar Skills
By being allowed to freely choose the topic, children can practice proper grammar and spelling without it feeling like a chore. They learn to place commas in between adjectives, begin new paragraphs for different topics and finish their thoughts with a period.
